Headcanon - concerning the subject of food

Dakota wouldn’t eat anything that’s been processed, factory produced or manmade, I think she strongly believes on surviving off what the world has provided while minimising the suffering of others and the ecosystem. This would mean her diet would mainly comprise of; seasonal berries, fruit and nuts however she wouldn’t be opposed to killing animals to eat under these conditions;

• The method of killing is quick without pain
• She must use every part of the animals in order to honour it’s death, this would mean carving the bones into weaponry or trinkets, using it’s skin for clothing for suchlike and eating all the meat she can 
• She must bless the animal before she kills it in order to put it’s spirit to peace
• An offering of the animal must be left for the forest- meaning any amount of meat must be left out and blessed 

She does understand that she would be in a weakened state if she did not eat meat and that would mean the chances of her being able to protect the forest and inhabitants would be lower.
